World of Kióhne: Sustainability

We love the land as much as the sea and we are committed to minimizing our impact on nature at every stage of production. 

All materials used by Kióhne are OEKO-TEX® certified and continuously updated with low-energy production technologies. Wherever possible, we incorporate recycled and biodegradable materials, from packaging to fabrics and accessories.

All swimwear are made using environmentally sustainable fabrics. Some derive from recycled yarns, some are made from regenerated raw materials while others degrade at a faster rate reducing waste accumulation in oceans and landfills. All fabrics are exceptionally soft and comfortable employing cutting-edge technology that provide excellent body shaping, offer UPF 50+ UV protection and dry quickly.

To minimize the environmental impact of transportation, all Kióhne products are made in Greece. We work closely with skilled Greek manufacturers who are experts in their craft and share our commitment to quality.

We place great emphasis on responsible production processes, aiming to reduce waste as much as possible. We ensure excellent working conditions and collaborate with partners who take pride in their work. All of our suppliers operate with social and environmental responsibility as a priority, sharing our vision of elevating quality standards while keeping Greek production alive and evolving.

For our latest drape collection, all swimsuits are crafted using an environmentally sustainable fabric made from regenerated raw materials, offering exceptional softness and comfort.

Our new custom made jacquard fabric collection is made of a type of yarn that degrades at a faster rate than usual, reducing waste accumulation in oceans and our land.

For our signature Tube bag, we source a high-technology recycled polyester yarn that preserves natural resources and reduces environmental impact without compromising on quality. The yarn is finished with a smart-dry technique, enhancing durability and is OEKO-TEX® certified.

All packaging materials are recyclable or made from recycled raw materials. Most of them are also biodegradable.

Social responsibility is also a core value at Kióhne, thus we actively participate in NGO fundraising events, supporting causes that align with our vision.

Handmade craftsmanship is a defining feature in many of our pieces. By preserving traditional techniques, we support local artisans, keep heritage crafts alive and add a unique, human touch to every product. Read more on our Handmade Stitching blog post.
